New Flight Simulator Experience Exhibit Now Open

July 9, 2018
For Immediate Release

Charlotte, N.C. – Fellow visitors can join the pilot in the cockpit on their journey towards their flight destination. The exhibit creates an immersive experience for both the pilot and for observers. Visitors will listen to real aircraft sounds that will transport them into the cockpit as they become a part of the flight journey. A Sullenberger Aviation Museum flight instructor remains by the pilot’s side throughout the duration of the flight simulator experience, coaching and instructing through practice takeoffs and landings. Visitors will learn how to thwart an engine failure, test their hand-eye control, and learn what it feels like to fly.

“We are proud to partner with American Airlines to offer this new interactive experience for visitors of all ages,” said Stephen Saucier, President of Sullenberger Aviation Museum. “Aviation plays a tremendous role in our region’s history and economy, and this exhibit seeks to ignite interest in aviation principles and careers. With the projected growth of aerospace and aviation industries in the Carolinas, we know that the Museum has an important role to play in supporting this vital workforce pipeline.”

The flight simulator experience will be included in regular admission price ($12) and is available from 11am-3pm on weekdays, 11am-4pm on Saturdays, and 1-4pm on Sundays. The flight simulator is also available for education programs and special events for an additional fee when booked in advance.

Sullenberger Aviation Museum is open 7 days a week and is located across from Charlotte-Douglas International Airport at 4672 First Flight Drive, Charlotte, 28208. For more information about the Museum’s programs and exhibits, visit www.sullenbergeraviation.org or call 704.997.3770.
