Join us at the Sullenberger Aviation Museum on January 14, 2026, for the launch of our new Miracle on the Hudson Experience!
This brand-new program takes a close look at the impacts of the now famous Hudson River emergency landing of Flight 1549 and the Airbus A320 aircraft at the center of it all. Guests will have exclusive access to a knowledgeable guide with behind-the-scenes information, get reserved seats for the exhibit’s film, and receive their very own Flight 1549 ticket describing the experiences of the people closest to the story. The tour concludes with an artifact experience granting unprecedented access to real artifacts from the museum’s Flight 1549 and Sullenberger collections.
Immersive Technology
Shelby Dains, SAM’s Collections Specialist, leads the ‘Miracle on the Hudson Experience’ with SAM staff.
This experience is a special interactive journey where guests will have exclusive access to a museum facilitator. At the beginning of each session, guests will receive their own headset and transmitter to wear for the duration of the event. This advanced technology allows guides and guests to communicate back and forth seamlessly, negating outside noise and creating an immersive experience.
Take-Home Ticket Momento

Sullenberger Aviation Museum Collection
During the session, each guest will receive a physical representing the lived experience of a real Flight 1549 passenger. These tickets not only tell a true story about a passenger, they also detail where that person was sitting when the plane landed, how they evacuated the aircraft, and if they sustained any injuries, helping the guests to see the events of the Miracle on the Hudson from the perspective of those who lived through it. At the conclusion of the tour, guests are encouraged to take their ticket with them as a special keepsake.

A sampling of the artifacts guests will have the opportunity to see and handle during the Miracle on the Hudson Experience.
Sullenberger Aviation Museum Collection
The tour concludes with a hands-on artifact experience, where guests are allowed to see and hold real items from the museum’s Flight 1549 and Sullenberger collections. During this rare opportunity, guests will become one of the few people able to directly access items from the museum’s archive. Participants will step into the role of museum professional, receiving instruction in artifact care and preservation from a trained museum facilitator. Through close observation, guests will discover the story behind each item and learn why the museum works so hard to protect the artifacts in our care.

Booking:
Each experience session has 15 slots available. Guests can purchase tickets in advance through our online booking system, found here, or in person at our Welcome Center.
We encourage booking ahead of time as slots are limited.
Age Requirement:
Due to the content and access to fragile materials, we require participants to be ages 13 and up.
